Since the 24th October AGM (Click here for the Minutes), the committee supported a wellbeing event in the Wyvil School and had two committee meetings at which the following were discussed: car parking, the lifts in Peter House, getting to know more about what residents want, repairs and upgrade to the playground, and getting notice boards put back up. Read all about it by clicking here.  The Committee subsequently dissolved, partly due to frustration that the Council ignored the views of residents that the Committee represented (after extensive consultation).

Vote NO to the Council's plan to merge a Wyvil TRA with Mawbey Estate TRA

The Council is trying to force residents on the Wyvil and Mawbey Estates to accept their plan to merge the two Estates Residents' Association into one. This would mean that there will be less time available for volunteer representatives from each Estate to represent the views of residents, making it easier for the Council to keep doing what it wants regardless of residents' views.

The Council has sent around, belatedly, a 'ballot paper' to ask for an opinion on whether the two Estate TRAs should be merged. It is extremely misleading, for example where it refers to 'Residents have spoken to the Lambeth Team about joining the TRA on both Estates' it makes it looks like the proposal comes from residents and that residents support it. This is NOT TRUE. The Council is trying to force this on residents. Every resident from the previous Wyvil TRA has strongly OBJECTED to this proposal.

Please use your vote on the ballot paper AGAINST this proposal.

If you can, please attend the 'AGM' which the Council is forcing upon residents on 24 June at 2pm outside the Wheatsheaf Hall and make it absolutely clear you object not only to the proposal to merge the TRAs, but also that you object to the way the Council is trying to force this on residents.

Plan 21 Nov 18-page-001.jpg

These were the plans for the central part of our Estate agreed by residents

The Council did something very different, against the wishes of residents.
